I know...It's been far too long...

Before anyone comments, let me say that it has been too long since I have last posted. It seems as though being Supermommy leaves less time for blogging than I expected. I do solemnly swear that I will be more consistent in updating Legend's blog (or...I'll try really hard). For now, allow me to update you all.

I never knew that being a mom would...

-make taking a shower the one of the hardest things to accomplish each day
-make alone time non-existent
-make you excited when you successfully clear out globs of mucus from your baby's nose
-have you singing Sesame Street songs at 3:15am because it makes your child smile
-have you driving 5 miles below the speed limit so you can watch for crazy drivers
-make it impossible to fathom how you managed to live life without your child
-make an orange soda and a chewy bar your breakfast/lunch
-add two whole hours to getting ready to go somewhere

Now that is enough about me. I know you have all come to hear about the Lovey Lamb (I will give him a "MANLIER" nickname when he is older). Legend has recently been battling a sinus infection (YAY HEREDITY) but he is starting to feel much better. I will give you a quick update about all of the things Legend can do now and post the pictures below.

Legend is now 3 Months and 4 days old and can...
-talk and sing to the TV when Sesame Street is on
-yell for attention when he feels he is being ignored
-attract women in public with his huge smile and dimples
-partially roll over
-sit up straight in his Bumbo and play with plastic rings
-suck on his fists like they are steaks
-decide that he has had enough milk and spit the remainder in your face (and smile)
-suck any piece of skin that is in his sights for too long (cheek, chin, neck, wrists, fingers, lip, nose, etc...)
-get on the internet, use his credit card and send his mommy chocolate covered strawberries for Mothers day
Now for the pictures...

sitting up at less than 3 months like a man!
He sure has gotten comfortable with this whole bath thing...

Getting his hair washed...
The Legend and Mommy

Highlights from our first Legendary month as parents...

Legend can now...
-Hold his head up pretty well
-Perform push ups
-Scoot to the top of the crib
-Roll on his side
-Smile
-Talk during diaper changes
-Support his own weight while standing
-Grip his own bottle
-Pull his hair in frustration
-Control two adults...

First time laying in his crib... (That lasted for about 15 minutes...)
First partial smile caught on camera... (This was promptly followed by spit-up...)
First car ride... (The ultimate sedative...)
First cuddle with a toy...
First bath... (He seems to be taking it well and luckily he didn't break...)

Sleeping his way into our hearts...

Legend's arrival sparked joy and excitement throughout the family. He met this excitement with the calm, cool, and collected nature of a little boy who knew he had everyone in the palm of his hand.

The Perilous Journey Home...

Though our stay at the Hospital was sprinkled with turmoil (mean nurses and a c-section without enough anesthesia), the day finally arrived when we were able to escape to our beloved home.

We knew we'd need our strength so we made sure to eat before our journey.

Having been locked away from the world for several days, we did our best to dress for our venture. (Yes... Mommy bought my pants way too big.)

With our new family strapped in and ready to go, we headed home.

It soon became clear that Legend would be an excellent traveler and a welcome addition to future excursions.

A Legendary Arrival...

Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.

My Letter to the Blizzard...

Dearest Blizzard,
It's me, Ericca, writing to you. I know it's not your intention but you are making this whole "going into labor" thing even scarier. You came and dumped 26 inches of snow on all the roads just last week and now, here you are again. Please move on so I can uncross my legs and let our son out! I would really love to have Legend in my arms instead of kicking me in the ribs. Besides, I don't think B. knows what to do with the boiled water and towels anyway. Thank you for your understanding and, no offense, but I hope not to see you for quite a while.

Yours Truly,
Ericca
